National Hunting and Fishing Days Celebration – Planned Activities

Joe Austin, President of DOA Outfitters will provide a free Snow Goose hunt; including food and lodging for one day as a door prize to be drawn at the closing ceremony (do not need to be present to win). Joe will also present four seminars titled Waterfowl Hunting Techniques. Master Catters will hold a catfish tournament to benefit the Wounded Warriors Program on Saturday night with weigh in on Sunday morning between 9 and 10 AM. West Virginia Big Buck Display Up to 30 legally harvested West Virginia bucks will be displayed. For information on how to participate in this event, look under Special Opportunities, National Hunting and Fishing Day Celebration and follow the instructions. Visit the West Virginia Wildlife Federations’ outside booth under the INFORMATION sign, complete a survey and you will become eligible to win two consecutive nights lodging for two people in a lodge room or cabin at a West Virginia State Park or Forest. Visit the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources website at www.wvdnr.gov and click on Parks to take a virtual tour of many locations. The drawing will be held on Sunday, September 23rd and the winner does not need to be present to win.
